Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS
Germany
Fraunhofer IKTS offers with its branch in Dresden-Klotzsche methods, sensors and devices for different kinds of nondestructive testing. Furthermore, the work focuses comprise services and research cooperations for the diagnosis of materials as well as components, structural health monitoring, nanoanalysis and sensorics as well as biotechnological and environmental techniques. The Dresden-Klotzsche location of the Fraunhofer IKTS arised from the Dresden branch (IZFP-D) of the Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing IZFP.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS conducts applications-oriented research in the field of high-performance ceramics. The three branches of the institute form the largest institution for ceramics research in Europe. With its comprehensive know-how in the fields of materials science, manufacturing technology, systems integration and materials and process analysis, Fraunhofer IKTS combines different technology worlds. At its heart are market-viable ceramic solutions for mechanical and automotive engineering, energy and environmental technology, optics, medical technology as well as electronics and microsystems technology.
