The Wavemaker systems developed and manufactured by Guided Ultrasonics Ltd (GUL) set the standard for guided wave testing (GWT) and monitoring. The systems use low-frequency guided waves to inspect pipes, rails and other structures from a single remote location. The ability to send guided waves along the length of a system or structure means that difficult to inspect areas, such as road crossing pipes, can be interrogated from a remote and easily accessible location. The inspection is usually performed while the system is in normal operation or service. The latest versions of this equipment, the Wavemaker G4 and G4mini, include a number of significant advances over earlier GWT systems. These include dynamic frequency animation, enhanced focusing capability, global positioning system capability and absolute amplitude calibration (for accurate and reliable distance amplitude curve setting). GUL does not provide inspection services; however, we are frequently onsite supporting and training users of our equipment, who are based on six continents. GUL tightly regulates its globally respected training and qualification scheme. For more information visit www.guided-ultrasonics.com.
