Austrian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ÖGfZP)

Austria

As a neutral and independent institution, the ÖGfZP is responsible for the transfer of knowledge and experience and it acts as a link within the NDT community. The representation of ÖGfZP involves active work within the EFNDT and the ICNDT as well as in CEN TC 138, ISO TC 135 and in the Austrian Standards Institute. The "NDT network" conference is an interdisciplinary event involving lecturers from industry and research who provide an insight into new and cutting-edge technologies.
The committees of ÖGfZP determine the specific requirements of different industries, such as aerospace and railway maintenance, in terms of training and examination and they discuss and analyze method-related issues as well as draft standards. Through close contact with educational institutions and its support of research projects, the ÖGfZP also contributes to the further technical development of NDT.
Training and examination
The ÖGfZP ensures that recognized training centers fulfill the requirements of EN ISO 9712, EN 4179 and NAS 410 in a competent and harmonized manner. A high level of training and examination in Austria is ensured through regular monitoring of authorized examination centers and realization of examinations under the responsibility of delegates of the certification body of ÖGfZP.
Qualifications in secondary and NDT-related domains, such as phased array and hardness testing, are offered directly by the ÖGfZP.
Certification
The ÖGfZP is the only Austrian accredited certification body for personnel of NDT according to EN ISO 9712. Courtesy of its recognition by the national accreditation body and membership of the Multilateral Recognition Agreements of EFNDT (Agreement Nice 1994) and ICNDT (Agreement Zagreb 2013), ÖGfZP certificates are guaranteed worldwide acceptance. Qualifications in accordance with EN 4179 & NAS 410 may also be issued with the support of the sector committee Aerospace in view of their recognition by the National Aviation Authority also.
